September 2019 - Joni spoke to ABC Radio Illawarra about Big Bob of Bellambi, a local smooth stingray that frequents the local boat ramp, and the anglers who tried to catch him. January 2017- Joni spoke with Melinda James of ABC Radio Illawarra about the project and how the public can get involved.
October 2020 - Joni was invited to speak all about The Stingray Diaries at VNPA's ReefWatch Virtual Great Victorian Fish Count Celectration Night. January 2020 - Joni spoke at the Integrated Marine Observing System NSW Node meeting about her work using acoustic telemetry to track stingrays. The IMOS NSW team have been significant contributors to the Stingray Diaries research, by providing acoustic receivers and tags and logistical support. May 2019 - Joni spoke about The Stingray Diaries project at the Department of Environmental Science 2019 Coastal Mini-Symposium at Macquarie University October 2018 - Joni presented her research on stingray social behaviour at the annual Australian Society of Fish Biology Conference August 2018 - Joni talked all things shark (and rays) for the Marine Rescue Forum at the Australia International Dive Expo.
